About Harvey

Harvey Barnes is the founder and operator of Fluid Motion Media, a production company focused on engagement videos, multi-camera live-event production, and the development of online shows. He operates a 4,000 s.f. production studio and mobile live-production trailer.

With a professional career that spans almost 30 years in business management, marketing, sales, product development, and creative roles, it’s fitting that Harvey has been called ‘technically creative’.

During high-school, Harvey was responsible for sound and light design and operation for their theatre.  This is where his passion for live-events, multimedia, and audience engagement first ignited.

After graduating from a three-year Electronic Engineering Technologist program at Durham College, Harvey jumped into the world of high-tech. He quickly learned of the importance of harmonizing expectations, collaboration, proper planning, testing, practice, and risk management.

By the age of 32, Harvey was promoted to Vice President of a product division at AIT Corporation, a publically traded multi-million dollar company. His focus was on developing and delivering practical security and business management solutions to corporate clients, during the early days of digital video. Since then, Harvey has also held senior positions at Honeywell Video, March Networks, and Norpak Corporation, where he transitioned from the security/ surveillance industry to the television broadcast space.

In parallel to this experience, Harvey remained active as an independant audio and video content producer, which eventually led him full circle to Fluid Motion Media.

In addition to the fun he is having at Fluid Motion Media, Harvey is an avid sailor and plays bass guitar in band.
